Day 3: Soldering and Suffering
By Tomas
One must imagine Sisyphus happy
Today was (hopefully) the most tedious day, which consisted almost entirely of soldering, primarily on the PCB.
Firstly we had to solder wires onto the power switch. Then we needed to solder a bunch of connectors onto the PCB, and insert it into the Arduino (this was by far the most time consuming thing). Lastly, we needed to make our own connector for the 7v battery.
After several hours of soldering, we managed to complete almost all of it. The PCB is now inserted onto the Arduino and is ready for the IC's to be inserted!
We still need to fix our connector to the battery, but that should not take very long.
We also added the joints onto the legs, which was the final part they were missing. Now all legs have 3 servos each.
All that's left is to make our battery connector, and connect the rest of the system together. We hope to be done with this on Monday, after which we can move on to coding!
